Cultural Studies, Ranum Magasinet and Windsurf

We are entering an important period at Ranum. It's time to choose cultural subjects, and that's something that naturally takes up a lot of time. This week, the students have started the selection process for Cultural Studies and travel for 2 periods. What is unique for Ranum is that the students themselves can help shape new cultural subjects, and that we vote on which cultural subjects to create. On Wednesday, the students were given an inspirational presentation - among others, the two Trainees Sille and Emily told about how they had chosen cultural subjects and about their trip to Malaysia. On Thursday, all students and teachers gathered in the hall for a creative workshop, where we had 5 rounds of inspiration and a dream workshop before the students had to make their first sample choice. Choosing is a difficult process and this is the challenge that teaches students to be able to prioritise and make choices and deselections.

In addition, after-school life is lively with lots of evening activities, fun in the rooms and fun activity classes. You can see that the students are getting better and better and slowly learning how to be a student. We take a closer look at this in this week's newsletter - enjoy.

Culture Days Afternoon

All students and teachers have the opportunity to propose cultural subjects, and on Monday the process started. Many exciting suggestions for trips around the world were received - and many were rewarded with a piece of chocolate after a good chat in the headmaster's office. It's great to see how ambitious the students are and how passionate they are about a project and experiencing a culture.

Last Wednesday, we all gathered first in the banquet hall for an introduction and presentation on past cultural subjects. Ideas were exchanged and students debated what they dream of experiencing and making a difference for.

Ranum Magazine

The marketing department has been busy finalising this year's Ranum Magazine. The school's DNA and visual expression are conveyed here, and it is updated every year with new student stories. The magazine gives a full overview of what kind of school we are, and partly also the endless possibilities you have as a student at Ranum. The final proof is being completed and we will of course share the magazine with all those who follow Ranum on various platforms as soon as it is online. So please keep an eye out - and feel free to send feedback to marketing@ranumefterskole.dk.

In the meantime, you can explore our archives and see how the school and its design have changed over time - you can do this by clicking here.

Windsurf & Photography

The two profile classes, Windsurf and Photography, had a great day in Trend with perfect beginner conditions. The sun was shining, the Limfjord was calm and the water was nice. So both windsurfers and photographers had great conditions to practice - see the pictures below.

Wind surfing & Photography on tour

From the garden to the stomach

Asian Cooking expanded their horizons and went foraging in the garden behind Ranumhus. There are a lot of vegetables and herbs that go well in the Asian stew. Ning, an activity teacher, passes on traditional and exciting recipes for Asian dishes.

New EVSs

The European Voluntary Service, or EVS, is a fantastic and exciting programme that gives young volunteers from all over Europe the opportunity to experience, work in and learn about a country's culture. We have just welcomed Dahiana and she will be at Ranum for a whole year.

Ranum Efterskole Open day

There is only one month to go before the doors of Ranum open to anyone interested or curious to experience life at Ranum. Do you know someone who deserves an unforgettable efterskoleear?

We guarantee a fantastic day with lots of after-school life, exciting food and presentations about what it's like to be a student at Ranum.

Events next week

Water sports weekends starts tomorrow, and fortunately many students stay at school and participate in a lot of activities with a common theme: WATER. The Maritime base in Rønbjerg is in full swing with sailing, surfing and SUP boarding, Wakeboarding on the lake at Rønbjerg and wave surfing in Klitmøller.

Next week, for the first time Home With, where the contact groups visit the contact teacher in their own homes. We spend the whole afternoon cooking dinner together. It's a nice activity and there's usually a really good atmosphere.

Friends' weekends next weekend is something the students look forward to, because they will have the opportunity not only to tell but also to show their friends back home what is happening at Ranum. It will be fun, and I think there's a surprise in store. Students can invite a friend to try out after-school life at Ranum Efterskole College.
The weekend offers a lot of activities and of course time to have fun with new friends.

Have a nice weekend from all of us

From all of us at Ranum Efterskole College
