If you have the courage and the desire to visit our friendship schools in Nepal, the journey of a lifetime and an educational journey beyond all borders awaits you.

Go to the current travel page for Nepal twinning school.

In culture and travel, you'll expand your horizons and certainly cross a line or two. The trip includes both physical activities such as trekking with a backpack up a mountainside, opportunities for rafting and climbing, etc. In addition, you will experience all kinds of religions and cultures in Nepal.

During your trip, you'll have a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with the Nepalese people during your visit to our friendship schools. Here we stay 3 nights with locals. You will experience eating food cooked over a fire on a clay tiled floor with a family who may not speak a word of English. During the day we will do activities at the friendship schools and get to know the everyday life of Nepalese children and young people.

After the 3-4 day visit to the friendship schools, you will have the option to choose whether you want to raft and go to Chitwan National Park, or go back to the Kathmandu Valley and work on social and political issues such as women's rights, aid organisations, electric cars, etc.

We prepare for the expedition by, among other things, going on a trekking tour with an overnight stay in the open. You must be prepared for the fact that the Nepal expedition is both physically and mentally demanding. In the profile course you will gain an understanding of what it is like to live in a remote country like Nepal. This applies to preparation, experiences and aftercare.

You will be equipped for a cultural meeting of dimensions, as well as trained in communicating this meeting. This is done by immersing yourself in various topics of Nepalese culture, traditions and history, and not least by experiencing the conditions first-hand.

Pre travel

As preparation for the trip we will be working with various aspects of the Nepalese culture, religion, history, nature and geography.
We prepare a presentation on a specific topic to be presented to the other students in the team, as part of the presentation training.

You must also do research for an article, a film or a presentation. The reseach before the trip serves as a basis for studies and interviews during the trip. Before the trip you must plan and prepare a small teaching project to be used in connection with our visit to our friendship schools.

After the trip

After the trip you must prepare a small presentation of your trip - with experiences and reflections - and present it to the class and other interested parties.
