Dance

The purpose of the teaching in the profile subject dance is for the students to experience the joy of dance and movement. Dance at Ranum Efterskole College is also a social subject, where students meet each other through rhythm, dance and movement, taking into account widely different starting points.

Teaching should give students the prerequisites for developing body awareness and understanding of different dances and movement expressions. It is the desire that drives the work, and we want to support the students' joy of movement and expand their opportunities and competences in this area. Furthermore, the dance classes will cover a wide range of genres from technique, street dance, modern, jazz, hip hop and show dance. We have contacts with several guest teachers who specialise in different areas of dance, which we take advantage of especially on the profile subject journey. The teaching will include teacher-led choreographies as well as activities where students experiment with their own dance sequences and exercises. In this way, students develop knowledge of choreography, music appreciation and their own creativity.

Dance at Ranum efterskole College is all about teamwork and community, and the trip helps to strengthen this aspect. The students are taught at foreign dance schools during the profile programme, where the students have the opportunity to expand their knowledge of dance. The programme combines dance and sightseeing, which contributes not only to unforgettable experiences, but also to the students' personal formation and development.

Terms: The students on dance must have an interest in dancing and have the courage to perform. It is a good idea to bring shoes and practical clothing for dancing.
