In rock climbing you will prepare for a trip to the craigs and forests of Europe (Italy or France). Throughout the preparation period, you will acquire basic skills and techniques of climbing. The subject covers, but is not limited to learning about:

  • Safety rules and practices
  • Bouldering
  • Top rope and lead climbing
  • Reading boulder problems and climbing routes
  • Belaying, route clearing and setting up an anchor
  • Legendary climbers (stories and characters)
  • Danish climbing possibilities (Løkken Bunkers, Aalborg Klatreklub, Bjerget i Viborg, Copenhill)

The aim of the subject is to develop a sense of body awareness, improve our sense of balance, fitness level, to overcome our fears (including the one of heights), to learn trusting and being responsible for each other. The subject aims to prepare students for a belaying and lead climbing certificate that is recognised by the Danish Klatreforbund and accepted by most Danish climbing organisations. The trip will focus on introducing and learning the students about the hard element of rocks, about how to apply their knowledge in nature, and how to be offline and have a cozy time together. Students will learn outdoor life skills such as cooking on camping stoves or setting up tents.
