Skating and windsurfing on the Caribbean island of Bonaire

One of the ABC islands, Bonaire, is located in the southern Caribbean Sea - about 80 kilometres from the Venezuelan coast. Choose the trip if you are interested in Board Performance, which is mainly Skateboard & Windsurfing.

The trip

Skateboard on Bonaire will be done as street skate where we will ride around on our skateboards and find spots where we can skate. There are no skateparks on Bonaire, but there is a skate community we will contact and skate with.

Windsurfing at Sorobon beach is one of Bonaire's crown jewels. Sorobon, on the east side of Bonaire, offers a beautiful beach area nestled in a large protected bay. Bonaire has become world famous for windsurfing! Sorobon's combination of sustained wind, weather, sunshine and warm shallow water make for the most idyllic windsurfing conditions. Bonaire has been recognized as one of the best places in the world to windsurf for beginner and professional levels. In addition, Bonaire's windsurfing athletes rank high in world competitions.

The Lessons

The lessons at the school will be 90% activities with either skateboarding in our skate hall or windsurfing at Trend beach. We will windsurf when wind and weather conditions are suitable, however we will skate in our new hall for much of the teaching time at school. We will windsurf approximately once a week and skateboard twice a week. We will be skateboarding a lot, so skateboarding will be a priority before the trip and windsurfing will be a priority on the trip itself. We will visit skateparks in North Jutland or skatehalls like for example Hal-A in Skive, Kultur Fabrikken in Herning or Omega skatehal in Hinnerup.

The school also has a lot of longboards that we occasionally take out and cruise on, and should you be up for it, we can also teach you to "slide" on your longboard, with sliding gloves on

In the lessons we learn how to windsurf and how to behave on a surfboard. And then you need to know about safety, wind directions and the equipment you are working with, so that will also be a natural part of the lessons. You will have the opportunity to have some great experiences with windsurfing and with the Limfjord. If you practice regularly and give it a go on the water, there are also good opportunities to get the "planing experience", where you really get the feeling of speed and excitement while "planing" across the water. We have equipment and instructors for all levels, so don't hold back, whether you're very experienced or a complete beginner.
