Our community is built on trust and respect. We cherish the freedom of the individual, as long as it is in the interest of the community. That's why we have clear rules that create a safe environment and make room for good socialising. It is important that you recognise and follow them.
All teaching is compulsory: We expect you to be on time for the activities you have chosen.
Cleaning during your stay: All participants must keep their room and bathroom tidy and clean during their stay. These scheduled chores are an integral part of the efterskole experience and shared responsibility.
Visiting rooms: Participants may visit each other's rooms between 10:00 and 22:00. After 22:00, participants must remain in their own rooms.
In the room (sleeping time): Participants must be in their rooms by 10 p.m. at the latest. Electronic devices such as computers or mobile phones are permitted in bed as long as they do not disturb roommates. After 10 p.m., all music must also be turned off. A teacher may remove the equipment if problems arise. The equipment will be stored in the office at the student's own risk and insurance until otherwise decided. We expect everyone to respect the need for rest after a busy day.
Bullying is not tolerated: We expect good social behaviour and a proper tone. We do not tolerate bullying, harassment or discrimination. We also do not accept threats, violence, vandalism or theft. Violation of these rules will result in immediate dismissal. In addition, vandalism to school buildings or equipment will result in the obligation to pay compensation.
Smoking, alcohol, snuff and drugs are prohibited: The school is a smoke-free area – both indoors and outdoors. Alcohol is not permitted at the school, in town or on the way to and from school. We do not tolerate any form of drugs or nicotine products. Violation of this rule will result in immediate termination of the participant's stay (without refund). In addition, sex is not permitted. Violation of this rule will lead to a conversation with the home and may result in repatriation.
Disclaimer of liability: The school reserves the right to cancel courses, activities or entire programmes if there are too few participants. In such cases, all registered participants will be contacted directly with an offer of an alternative or a refund.
Insurance/damage: In case of injury or emergency, staff will provide first aid and transport to the nearest doctor or hospital if necessary. However, the costs are covered by the participant's own insurance. If you are a Danish citizen, this will be covered by your yellow health insurance card. For EU citizens, it is covered by the blue EU health insurance card. For international participants, we recommend that you seek advice from your private insurance company about coverage.
Cancellation policy: Cancellation of stays can be made without charge up to 1 month before the start of the programme (not the participant's start date). After this date, a cancellation fee of DKK 1,000 will be charged up to 1 week before the start of the programme. After this date, no refund will be given in the event of cancellation. Expenses related to travel cancellations or delays are not the responsibility of the school.
Social security number: If you are a Danish citizen, we will ask you to provide your CPR number prior to arrival in accordance with the Danish Folk High School Act. This will only be used for administrative purposes by the school and will not be made publicly available.
Pricing policy: Please note that there is a price difference between students with a Danish CPR number and international students who are not eligible for a Danish CPR number.
