Media & Design
Category
Profile subject P1, Profile subject P3Would you like to work creatively with photography, video and graphic design? In Media & Design you'll have the opportunity to create everything from posters, logos and business cards to photo reports and visual campaigns. Do you have a journalist in you? Then you can try your hand at interviews, articles, podcasts and news reporting - and help tell stories from efterskolelivet. You'll also have the opportunity to create your own projects and develop your ideas from concept to finished product. At the same time, you can become part of the team that helps manage the school's social media and create content that is seen by many. Media & Design is for those who want to be creative, work on real projects and learn new skills you can actually use.
We are located in the “media workshop” where we work in cosy surroundings. There are 12 workstations and a large format printer for posters and banners. You are welcome to bring your own computer for use in class, but our iMacs can handle video rendering and large graphic productions in InDesign just fine. What you don't need to bring is a camera, gimbal, drone, microphones, lights, tripods and so on - we have all that and it's ready to be used. If you want to get to know your own camera better, we can help you with that too.
We have a tradition of going on relevant company visits, taking inspirational trips in front of and behind the big screen, and helping to solve creative tasks at efterskolen events.
We edit in programmes such as DaVinci Resolve (video), Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop (photo editing) and InDesign (graphic design).
The trip
Media & Design travelling to Liverpool
This year we have chosen to team up with the music team who are travelling with The Beatles to Liverpool. In the weeks leading up to the trip, we'll be designing and producing merchandise and posters for their performances.
During the tour, we use the creative environment to make music videos, go on image safaris and work with visual storytelling in practice.
We are also in dialogue about a possible collaboration with the BBC, which will hopefully give us a day trip to their impressive MediaCity outside Manchester.
The journey will also include a day trip to Wales for nature and hiking.
