Strong finale to a year full of development and experiences

Dear all

The final week has offered everything from home visits to the contact teachers to a revue where teachers and students took the year's funny moments to heart. The students have competed house against house in the House Cup, had a wet and successful trip to Fårup Sommerland and received great Cambridge Awards at the reunion. The week culminates with the Dream Festival in Rønbjerg and a festive graduation ceremony at the school.

Thank you for a great school year!

Happy reading!

Singing and dancing on stage

Already on Sunday evening, we kicked off the final week with a cosy and memorable evening where parents came to collect the students' belongings. Together we enjoyed a lovely communal meal before a group of students performed a musical and delivered a fantastic performance full of energy, song and dance.

Day trip to Fårup Sommerland

On Monday, ten buses filled with excited students travelled to Fårup Sommerland, where a rainy day was transformed into another fun and memorable experience in the final week.

The battle for house honour and glory

Tuesday saw the battle for honour in this year's House Cup, where the school houses met in a number of sports disciplines such as basketball, volleyball, badminton, bowling, swimming and running. The competition was intense and they went at it with both spirit and good humour.

Cosy up with the contact teachers and a fun revue for everyone

On Wednesday morning, the students visited the homes of their contact teachers, where the programme included fun activities and snacks. A good opportunity to reminisce about the past school year. In the evening, everyone enjoyed this year's revue, which used humour and sketches to capture the funny and memorable moments of the year.

Dream Festival under the open sky

Dream Festival was a very special evening and night where students celebrated the community and marked their last night together before the end of the school year. Dancing and singing along to both student performances and festive concerts with musicians Thor Farlov and Josef. An unforgettable end to a strong 1TP5 Year.

Last stop: Graduation

We ended the school year in style as students, parents and staff gathered for graduation to celebrate an unforgettable year of growth, experiences and friendships. Thank you for an amazing school year - filled with great moments, new friendships and personal growth. It has been a pleasure to follow the students on their journey, and we now send them off with pride and fond memories.

Reunion and Cambridge Award

On Saturday 21.06.25 we welcomed former students to a festive reunion with reunion joy and fellowship. The Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards were presented to the students from last year who have achieved some of the very best results in Cambridge IGCSE English - both nationally and internationally. The awards are given to students who have achieved top grades in their exams, making them stand out among thousands of students worldwide. A great achievement!

Thank you for this year!

We end the school year in style when the students first head to Rønbjerg for this year's Dream Festival with music, camping and fellowship under the stars. On Saturday we gather for graduation and celebrate an unforgettable year filled with development, experiences and friendships. Thank you for a fantastic school year - filled with great moments, new friendships and personal development. It has been a pleasure to follow the students on their journey, and we now send them on their way with both pride and good memories.

Headmaster's column

Dear reader,

In a moment it will be quiet, and in a moment the young people will leave the Tree of Life in the schoolyard. They have lived, travelled and shared efterskolelivet for 11 months, and now they have been officially sent away - graduated as class 24/25, student group 21. It's hard to say goodbye to this year's group of students, because rarely have the company, smiles and laughter been so intense. Soon the young people will be travelling home with their parents - to all of Denmark and to over 20 countries. Many will meet next week at the Nibe Festival, some have already made plans to visit during the autumn holidays, and we hope to see them again at the Yearbook ceremony in August or at the REC-Union Festival on 20 June 2026.

The school year ends today, but on Tuesday we will be hosting a camp for families with dyslexic young people, and the following four weeks will be the Ranum International Summer Camp with over 300 young people from more than 30 nationalities. We're looking forward to the holidays - and we can't wait to welcome 540 new efterskole students to class 22 on 10 August.

The school office is closed between 4 July and 4 August, but we will continue to respond to info@ranumefterskole.dk

Happy summer to you all!

Olav Storm Johannsen, Principal
