The last profile trip of the year and a 10 year anniversary

Dear all

From Læsø and Fur to Lillebælt, Aarhus and Aalborg - the students have been on an adventure. This is efterskoleår's last profile subject trip, where the students have had the opportunity to round off their programme with experiences that bring theory and practice together.

In this week's newsletter you can also meet one of Ranum Efterskole's former students Sif Lilkær Wacker, who is celebrating her 10-year anniversary as a graduating student.

Happy reading!

Experiences that bind us together - last profile subject trip

This week, the students have been on the last profile trip of the year - and they have had very different, but very exciting experiences. Some have sailed on the Limfjord, while others have danced at camp in Viborg with Hald Ege Efterskole, practised yoga, surfed the waves at Klitmøller or bottle dived in Aarhus. They have also made beautiful ceramics in Farsø, played basketball with guest trainer Alonzo Brookz and ridden Icelandic horses through the countryside on Læsø.

Enjoy photos and video from student field trips.

10 years later - Sif looks back on her 1TP5Year

Meet Sif Lilkær Wacker who graduated from Ranum Efterskole College 10 years ago. She shares memories from her efterskole days and how the year still influences her life today.

Student representatives from Ranum Efterskole College to debate study choices

On Thursday 22 May, two of our 10th grade students were invited to a debate on education and guidance, organised by Studievalg Danmark. Besides Camille and Mathias from Ranum Efterskole, students from 1st and 2nd year at Støvring Gymnasium, a UU counsellor, the head of education from Aalborg Katedralskole, the principal from Hasseris Gymnasium and 80 counsellors from all over the country participated.

Mathias and Camille shared their thoughts on educational choices and how the 10th grade at Ranum Efterskole has contributed to their personal development and maturation in the process.

Mathias said among other things:
"I have definitely evolved in 10th grade. I have become a different person with new thoughts and interests that have changed the choices and ideas I previously had about my further education."

Their participation in the debate gave student counsellors valuable insight into the factors behind young people's choice of youth education and higher education. It also highlighted what works in teaching and counselling when young people have to make these important choices - and the importance of the study environment.

Ascension Day

The week ends with Ascension Day - a welcome opportunity for a little break.

We wish everyone a wonderful long weekend before we start the last weeks of the school year.

Headmaster's column

Dear reader,

The mini expeditions are well over. Most have had a great experience and gained a lot of experience in their new profile subjects.
However, we had to realise that one of our 10 school boats was unfortunately not unsinkable. The students and the instructor all got into the safety boat. There was no danger to the students and the safety plan worked as it should.

The mini expeditions are a welcome break between the written and oral exams. In the coming weeks, there will be time for more than just oral exams, and students are preparing for the big Gala party by learning to dance the Lancier in their family groups.

We wish everyone a very happy Ascension Day holiday.
