02 May World stories and everyday highlights
Dear all
Another week has flown by here at Ranum Efterskole College, and as always, there has been plenty of life, learning and community. This week we've organised Masterchef in Asian Cooking, trained new certified climbers and lifeguards, been on the water and a whole lot more.
We also thank you for a great family and cultural day.
Good reading!
Family and culture day
Last Sunday, we organised a family and culture day where the whole school was buzzing with life and reunion joy. Students presented their travel experiences to family and friends through presentations, pictures and tastings - a day filled with pride, stories and community across cultures.
Thank you for your support, contributions to the raffle and not least your curiosity about the world we live in.

Masterchef / end of Asian Cooking
There was excitement in the kitchens when this year's Masterchef in Asian Cooking took place. Four teams of students competed to create the best Asian-inspired dish based on their own creativity.
Astrid and Amanda won for their rice dish - congratulations!

Certified climbers
We're also taking a trip to the heights, as a large group of students have become fully qualified K1 and K2 climbers. This means that the students have completed two levels of competence and now have knowledge of basic climbing equipment, can handle falls on leads and know the correct belay technique.
Congratulations on the proof!

Wakeboarding and paddleboarding in the sun
Spring has been at its most beautiful, and we've made the most of it with wakeboarding activities in Rønbjerg and paddleboarding at Vilsted Lake.

New lifeguards
Four REC students can now call themselves fully qualified lifeguards. The test consists of a swimming test, which includes rescue, object diving and a 200 metre swimming test. In addition, the students also had to be able to raise the alarm correctly, perform CPR and show an understanding of the safety measures to be taken in a swimming pool.
Congratulations to you!

Closing party in Spanish
After a whole year of Spanish lessons, the students will be attending their last lesson of the year on Friday. Learning both the language and the culture - the students, including this Spanish class, have been on an exchange programme in Spain - and will soon be visited by the Spanish school here in Ranum.

New students' day
Although the school year for current students is far from over, we are now breaking ground for the upcoming students for the school year 25/26. We are holding a "New Student Day" on Sunday 11 May and look forward to welcoming you to Ranum Efterskole College.
The day will include presentations on the different subjects so you can learn more about your options.
We look forward to meeting all you future students.
Here are a few pictures from last year's New Student Day.

Meet the Locals
During their cultural journeys, the students did their best to learn about the different cultures they visited. Part of their experiences were also shared with the rest of the school in the form of a video - Meet the Locals.
Listen and watch the different interviews at the link here.

Headmaster's column
Dear reader,
The exam period has begun. The students have drawn their topics and we now cross our fingers that they aim for good results and do their best - because it's an important part of efterskole life and the rest of life.
Next Sunday, students will relive their first day at Ranum when they help welcome the new student team at New Student Day.
There are now only 8 weeks left in the school year, and that alone means that students are very focused on getting it all in. The motto that the more you give to the community, the more you get back becomes really important.
