Performance, snow grill, Lucia and 3rd term elections.

Dear reader!

Performanceugen ended with a great series of performances, a Christmas market and many activities throughout the school. And even though the weather on Sunday was definitely against us, more than 100 guests made it to the show. On Monday, the local schools saw the final performance, and the young audience was happily enthusiastic as the actors, true to tradition, slapped the script and went particularly slack in the final scenes. See more photos here.

Monday afternoon we held again sample elections at the new profile subjectsto be placed on the ballot paper for the 3rd term. The subjects are shown below and during the week teachers and students have given further input on the subject content and the objective of the subjects. As well as there has been intense work on clarifying the expedition objectives. This has almost been achieved up to the weekend, but the final elective list is electronically going out by email to all pupils and parents by Monday.

Tuesday team kitchen team snow grilling, and it was really nice, but also pretty cold for the macho grillers. The same evening our two Nepalese students talked about their country and life as young people in Nepal and it was excellent inspiration and preparation for the upcoming expedition.

Wednesday evening after the hardball club was finished at 21. the team we Master Christmann evening in every room, and students eagerly participated in the themes of well-being and togetherness announced over the loudspeakers. The aim is to focus on good room karma and inclusiveness in socialising.

On Thursday morning, two teams of girls in Lucia parade through all corridors and rooms. It was a beautiful and lovely way to wake up and even though it was freezing cold, spirits were high among the students.

This coming week there are term tests from Monday to Wednesday for everyone. The final exams are an important part of the grading process, so it is expected that everyone shows up fresh and 100% ready on Monday morning, see link under teaching.

During homework time, there is an opportunity to learn more about the many profile subjects proposed for the 3rd period.

On Wednesday, we will award the Christmas Rooms of the Year. Teachers are judges, and they can be bribed with sweets and carols. There will also be lots of pictures on FB and the website, so you can also go and likeif you want to vote a room to FB win. Wednesday also marks the end of the competition for the 5 RE necklaces - see link. See if you can win a beautiful Christmas gift.
Thursday after the last rehearsals, we have big Christmas cleaning - all Christmas decorations have to be taken down. And then an 80s dodgeball tournament between the contact groups. Costumes are mandatory!

On Friday there will be a Christmas service in Ranum Church for Ranum Efterskole only. Afterwards there is a Christmas lunch, and a big Christmas party in the banquet hall, before we all dance around the Christmas tree and finally say goodbye to each other and the first ½ year of this school year by hugging the Tree of Life in the schoolyard. Parents, students and siblings are welcome to join us in the canteen between 2 and 3pm for refreshments and coffee and juice. You will also be able to meet the contact teachers and say Merry Christmas.

Most students are home this weekend, after the long performance period and with them they should have this year's Christmas card for the parents from Ranum Efterskole.
