Full host students on weekend trip to Funen
Our full-time students, who live at the school year-round, had an exciting trip to Funen over the weekend. Among other things, they explored Odense and visited the impressive Egeskov Castle. The trip gave the students the opportunity to experience Danish culture, history and city life up close, while having fun together outside of school – and getting into the Christmas spirit.

MMA training with fighter Martin Kampmann
As part of Performance Week, we were visited by Martin Kampmann, Denmark's most experienced UFC fighter. A UFC fighter is a professional MMA practitioner who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) – the largest and most well-known MMA organisation in the world.
Here, students could delve into MMA and hear about life as a professional fighter. In his presentation, Martin inspired them to set goals, work with focus and dare to follow their dreams. All students who wanted to could participate, and the team ended with a joint training session featuring techniques and exercises from his career.

Snakes on the loose in seminariehuset
On Thursday evening, the snakes on the first floor of the Seminary House were unexpectedly joined by a bunch of brave students. The terrariums were clearly too boring, because the snakes quickly crawled out – right onto arms, shoulders and even into hair! The students got both thrills and laughs as they tried to keep track of their slithering friends. A snake evening filled with excitement... and a little panic!

Preparations for this year's big Christmas market
The pupils have been working hard on cookies, Christmas decorations and other creations for the big Christmas market and musical on Family Day on Saturday. They are looking forward to showing their work to friends and family. All proceeds will go to our partner school in Nepal, a refugee school in Malaysia and to Namibia, where the pupils will be helping animals at a sanctuary in March. It is creative, fun and meaningful work that makes a difference to others.
We look forward to seeing you!

Students on diplomacy and debate visit to Croatia
This week, a group of students visited Zagreb in Croatia at the invitation of the Danish Embassy and the Croatian National Bank. Here, they gained insight into how diplomacy and economic institutions affect everyday life and society. Among others, they met Freya Tilsted Falden, a former Ranum student who now works at the embassy and shared her experiences and advice. The trip culminated in a debate at the National Bank's museum, where Danish and Croatian students discussed financial literacy and the green transition – even with the participation of the Deputy Governor and coverage on Croatian television.

Musicals, media and music during Performance Week
The musical buzzes with energy as part of Performance Week! On stage, the students dance and perform with great enthusiasm, while the technicians control the lighting and sound. The carpenters build the stage from scratch, the media students capture the best moments with cameras and design and print signs, and in the music room, the final notes are polished. Together, the whole team creates a spectacle filled with creativity, teamwork and magic, which everyone is looking forward to experiencing on Family Day.

Headmaster's column
Dear reader,
Performance Week is buzzing with life and creates new communities across the entire school. The students do not perform solely for their own enjoyment. They collaborate to produce goods for the Christmas market, where the profits go towards the education and development of young people at our partner schools, etc. They have built an outdoor base with shelters at Kærhuset for the enjoyment of both this group of students and many more in the future. They have collaborated through music, dance, song and performance to create a musical performance for the enjoyment of us all. The higher goal of creating experiences and passing on the profits are core values for us – and central to the upcoming cultural subjects.
On Saturday, the week culminates with a large Christmas market, musical, presentations in the various cultural subjects and lots of delicious refreshments from the kitchen. In between these many activities, school-home meetings are also held, either in person or online.
Performance Week also marks the end of November and the start of the Christmas month with new cultural subjects, a student party, a Christmas ball and the prelude to the group trips in January to Sweden for skiing and to Prague for City Culture.
A very pleasant first Sunday of Advent to you all.
