From water sports and cinema trips to home visits and international guests, September has started and the past week has been filled with experiences both in and out of the classroom.

Full speed ahead on the fjord
The weekend was all about the water as students took part in a range of cool water sports - from SUP and kayaking to sailing and wakeboarding. Spirits were high, even though dark clouds and rain showers tried to discourage us. But Ranum students don't let that stop them easily - and they went full throttle on both water and community!
Luckily, the weather cleared up and we experienced the most beautiful sunset.
Chequered Ninja 3 on the big screen
Monday night we filled the entire cinema in Løgstør, where the film Ternet Ninja 3 rolled across the screen. It was an evening with lots of laughs, a good atmosphere and much-needed relaxation - it was clear that the film struck a chord with the students. With their age and sense of humour, the many youthful references in the film were welcomed with open arms.
The contact teacher invites you to a cosy home visit
Wednesday saw the first home visit of the year, where all students were invited to the homes of their contact teachers for an afternoon and evening filled with fun activities and a delicious dinner. It was a great opportunity to strengthen relationships in a safe and informal setting.
Trip to Aalborg Zoo - an evening in the sign of diversity
On Thursday evening, we took community to new heights at Aalborg Zoo, where we celebrated diversity and friendships across cultures. Each student invited another student of a different nationality - and together they had an extraordinary experience. The evening included everything from live music and student presentations to feeding the animals and a speech from the Mayor of Aalborg.
Visitors from India and Argentina
In the coming month, we have the pleasure of welcoming AFS students from both India and Argentina. The international guests will be an active part of efterskole life here at Ranum and participate in classes alongside our year-round students. It is a unique opportunity for both Danish and international students to share experiences, create friendships and strengthen the global outlook - completely in the spirit of Ranum.

Efterskolernes Day is just around the corner and we can't wait to open the doors and show off our amazing school! The day gives future students the opportunity to learn more about Ranum Efterskole, and we expect current students to help show around, take photos and be a part of the day. So spread the word to everyone you know - the more the merrier. Together we can create a day filled with great experiences, smiles and community.

Headmaster's column
Dear reader,
This week we organised the first At home with the contact teacher-event, and it's clear that time and interaction build stronger relationships. It is precisely the informal and uncomplicated relationship between teacher and students in the contact group that makes students open to accommodate each other's differences and give special consideration when necessary.
On Monday, one of the students' suggestions for an activity was realised when we had the opportunity to rent Løgstør Bio for a special performance exclusively for Ranum. We saw Chequered Ninja 3 and had a huge party. The students realised that it pays to take initiative and bring ideas into play for the community.
This week we have also finalised the editing of the new Ranum Magazinewhich is now ready to be handed out at the Vilsted Sø Løbet on 13 September.
