Language, sport and socialising - 1TP6Life in balance

Dear all,

The sun is really starting to shine over Ranum, and it is clearly noticeable here at the school.

Here are a few highlights from the week.

We wish everyone a great weekend.

Outdoor teaching in the sun

This week has been full of life in the school's outdoor areas, where roundball, bubble football and beach volleyball have brought students together for physical activity and fellowship.

In addition, the exam period will soon be upon us, and with the nice weather, there are plenty of opportunities to prepare outside.

Talent and courage on stage

The music students invited to a concert and filled the hall with good tones and interplay. It was clear how much courage and joy was put into every performance.

A big thank you and a big applause to all the talented students!

Celebrating Dia del Espanol

On Wednesday 23 April, we celebrated International Spanish Language Day, Dia del Espanol.

Two of the school's volunteers from Spain and Spanish teacher Romina Deltin from Argentina had planned an evening of quizzes and tasks about Spanish-speaking countries.

Extracts for exam subjects

Friday is a special day when students get their exam subjects drawn.

It marks the beginning of a new phase in the school year where immersion and preparation take centre stage. We know it can be exciting - and a little nerve-wracking - but we're ready to help everyone get started.

Headmaster's column

Dear reader,

Easter was a breath of fresh air for the students, and when the rain finally stopped, the students came out onto the lawns for some fun and ball games.
On Tuesday 22 April, we celebrated the school's 22nd birthday with a gathering, singing and cream puffs. The flag was raised and some of us 'oldies' remembered the first students who helped shape Ranum forever.

The music teams' spring concert brought students together in the very special Ranum Togetherness-This is the feeling that arises when a packed ballroom is gathered around each other and the music.
Year 9 had their final exams today, and no one passed German, which "strangely enough" lifted the mood considerably. This is probably why 30 more hours of German will be taught in year 9 in the coming years.

This week the students have been preparing their cultural and travel presentations for this Sunday's Cultural and Family Day. We look forward to seeing parents and siblings for a fun day that ends with lots of profile subject activities.
