Here's what we've experienced in the first half of the Cultural Subject Journeys

The cultural subject trips are now entering the second half. It has been a great week with many new cultural experiences. That's exactly why we go all over the world on the Cultural Subject Journey. It's to get out and learn another country's culture. To learn more about ourselves through how others live and do things.

The P2 2024 Cultural Journeys are:

Brasilien, Argentina, South Africa, Bali, Namibia, Costa Rica, Japan, China, US Road Trip East & West, US Texas, US Robotics, Thailand Sailing, South Korea, Nepal High Trek, Nepal Culture, Canada, Morrocco, Panama, Europe Tour and Malaysia.

Here are some of the best photos from the different trips so far.

Dear reader, this was a small insight into what the individual journeys are doing. To see and read more from each trip, you can follow us on our social media channels. Next week, another newsletter will be sent out with pictures from the second week of the Cultural Subject Journeys.

The training manager's column

As Headmaster Olav Storm is in Japan on a Cultural Studies trip, there is no headmaster's column this week. However, we don't want you to be cheated, so Head of Education Matthew Danaher has put a few words on his thoughts about the ongoing Cultural Studies Journeys.

Dear families and friends of the school,

We have moved our classroom out into the world and embraced alternative learning methods. Through language, food and experiences, we meet cultures at eye level, allowing students to soak up knowledge about the world around them. The purpose of the Cultural Subject Journeys is to give students the opportunity to experience the contrasts between cultures and let them question their own way of life. We hear from the trips that it goes really well and that the students are challenged for better or worse. We hope you all follow us on our social media channels, where you can see daily updates from the trips. In addition, there are definitely a lot of sons and daughters who can't wait to come home and tell you about all their great experiences!

We hope that all students return home with a backpack full of memories and experiences that they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Have a great weekend,

Matthew Danaher.
