A week of spookiness

Dear reader,
This week our basement was transformed into The Haunted House, while our teachers underwent a little makeover. In addition, we started the second term of the school year on Monday, when the cultural subjects chosen at the beginning of the school year will be taught.

Halloween
There was shouting, there was laughter in horror and there was frightening. Teachers had gone all-in on terrifying transformations and the canteen was taken over by spiders, cobwebs, severed body parts, ghosts and a few buried corpses in the salad bar. All in all, a very successful Halloween.

With Olav in Asia
Last week Olav went to Asia to promote Ranum Efterskole College. This week Olav has been in South Korea, where they held their first education fair about free schools and Ranum Efterskole College was of course represented.

Second term of the school year has begun
While Olav is in Asia, we have started the second term of the school year. This means that last Thursday the students had their first lesson in their cultural subjects. This week's lessons were marked by various 'learn-as-you-go' exercises and practical information, so everything is in place for Monday, when the lessons on the different cultures and social issues start in earnest. This year, the following cultural subjects have been chosen:

Learn to dance like Michael Jackson, with Anthony King
On 11 November, we invite you to a workshop to learn how to dance like 'the King of Pop' himself. When our dancers were on a profile trip in England, they had dance lessons with Anthony King, a renowned choreographer. He is best known for his work with Michael Jackson and his classes where we can all learn to dance like 'The King of Pop'. Who doesn't want that! Don't forget to sign up - places are limited.

On weekends we get visits from the students' families. Today, Friday, the parents come by for parent talks. After that, the rest of the weekend is all about sibling fun, as we've invited all the students' siblings here for the weekend and we're looking forward to it!

Next week
Next week will be one of the quieter ones here at Ranum, but that's only because we need to recharge our batteries so we're ready when Anthony King comes by to teach us how to get moves like the King of Pop. The whole of next weekend is dedicated to dancing. On Friday, the dancers will be taught by Anthony King, while all students will have the opportunity to take dance lessons from King on Saturday. On Sunday, we'll round off the weekend with a dance workshop for everyone who manages to sign up for the wildest dance workshop of the year.

Greetings all of us at
Ranum Efterskole College
