Newsletter week 12

Dear reader,

We had a great week full of different activities. We have had visits from film crews, American visiting students and the international students have come through their first oral exams.

Film team from Serbia

On Tuesday and Wednesday, we had a visit from a film crew from the Serbian TV station RTV. They are making a documentary series about international schools in Europe, and we are lucky to be one of the selected schools. Two of our students, Míra and Maya, accompanied them both days and showed around and did interviews, with a lot of students and teachers. So it will be fun to see the results in May.

Visit from the USA

On Wednesday, the cultural subject "US Roadtrip & High School Exchange" was visited by their friends from the USA. On Thursday, the students were in Aalborg for a guided tour and today, Friday, they visited Siemens. This weekend, the American students will go home to the Danish students to live and see what life is like in a Danish family.

Concert in Multikulturhallen

On Thursday afternoon, the three asylum centres; Ranum, Frederikshavn and Hobro held a joint day with a concert and presentations in the Multicultural Hall. Our students were also invited and it was for many students a very exciting afternoon. Our own teacher, Carl, was one of those who played at the concert.

Ready to travel

All the profiles are getting ready to leave, the first ones leaving during the night between Thursday and Friday. The teams are excited and have spent the last few weeks thoroughly preparing in their subjects and honing their skills in the different areas. So now they are ready to put to the test what they have learned on their travels!

Oral exams

During the last two weeks, the students of the International Line have been taking oral exams in English, German, Spanish, French and Mandarin. They have all done very well and are proud to have passed their first exams of the year.

Fair in Tallinn

Last week, Joakim and Birthe participated in three international education fairs in Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn respectively, together with about 75 other international schools and universities. The purpose was to tell about the school and to attract students from the three Baltic countries to Ranum Efterskole College. The fairs were very well attended and during the three days about 3,000 families came by to hear about the possibilities of going to school in Europe or North America.

Visiting Taiwan

Olav and Ning have gone to Taiwan to meet a lot of exciting and potential friendship schools and partners. They have already made an agreement with a large Taiwanese bilingual school to offer their students to come to our summer school.
