Newsletter 26.10.13

Dear reader!
It was great to feel that all students were fresh again after the holidays and it has been buzzing with stories from the many expeditions all week. In the book classes there has been a lot of excitement and talk about grades and today Saturday all grades became available for students and parents on Schoolplan. Overall, it looks really good, even if not so many top grades have been given. Teachers have made a lot of comments on the students who got below 4, so it is indicated which areas and how to work further.

The week has offered a lot of revision and completion of the profile subjects. Although the autumn weather made the leaves fall like snow, Street performance was on the cards and in almost all subjects, students are now ready for the big presentation to their peers and teachers on Tuesday and Thursday.

Throughout the week we have seen a very upbeat atmosphere among the students, they were simply very excited about their first student party organised by the volunteer Parent Council and the Student Party Committee. On Friday, the atmosphere lifted in the hall and after a nice dinner at the school, more than 280 young people set off for their first common party and we held our breath. And judging by the rumours, we can breathe easier, because it was reported to be a very nice party. Thank you to all parents and the student party committee for your hard work and commitment to ensuring a safe - and smoke-free - party culture for our young people!

Today we have had over 500 former students at RE-Union / Reunion Day. We had a community gathering, sang "The Tree of Life" and "Give Us Back the Light", went on a reunion tour at Gl. rooms with the teachers as guides, and took a lot of pictures before we gathered everyone for the Friday gathering in the hall with dancing and fellowship. It has been a really nice day, where we have been touched by the joy of reunion and many memories. Thank you to all the visitors, how wonderful to feel that your community is alive and well even years later. Tonight the last two classes are celebrating. We look forward to seeing you again at the 10th Birthday Celebration on 14 June 2014.

Years 12-13 - over 250 found their way to RE-Union

In the coming week there will be presentations of last period's profile subject expeditions, the start of the new cultural profile subjects and on Wednesday evening there will be a concert by Sebastian Lind. On Friday there is the possibility to have a professional conversation with the teachers, if desired.
Saturday and Sunday is the siblings weekend and we are really looking forward to another nice weekend with lots of activities.
Today, our two Nepalese guests, Takman and Dudha, arrived to participate in English classes and in the Culture subject Nepal. Tomorrow, our Thai students will host a dinner for their boddies and host families. They have prepared a cultural programme and are very much looking forward to seeing their Danish host families from the autumn holidays again.

Best regards and have a great weekend!
