Two weeks of fundraising and a big party

At Ranum Efterskole we decided to support the Danish Fundraising Campaign again in the school year 12/13. The money we raised was to go to the development of a better life in 11 African countries. Unfortunately, we got a late start with the collection, but despite this we managed to collect 13.247 DKK in two weeks. In addition, we provided free labour for Aalborg Congress and Culture Centre's big flea market SOKO. During the SOKO event, DKK 20,000 was raised.

On 8 February 2013 DR's "Indsamlingensshowet" ran across the screen. Together with two other North Jutland efterskoler, we had been invited to participate in the part of the programme that was to be broadcast from North Jutland. While we waited to enter the big stage, several artists performed on the small stage with the efterskole pupils - including The Blue Van and Jonny Hefty. This gave the pupils a great experience, where they could take pictures with the artists and get their autographs. "It was an intimate concert experience that we will never forget" says one of RE's students.

Next year we start earlier
13,247 DKK collected in two weeks is a great result, which has given us at RE even more blood in our veins for next year's collection. Already at this stage, we have given some thought to how we can join the fight to be the afterschool that raises the most money. Among other things, we are planning to present the project to the students who will be taking the course "Personal Development", with the hope of setting up a "Denmark Fundraising Working Group" at the start of the school year. The working group will help develop fundraising events, get sponsorship from local businesses, make fundraising videos for YouTube and much more. We are already looking forward to starting the new collection.
