A week of high pulse: sea running, sports and skydiving!

The week has offered everything from down-to-earth fellowship to free falling from the sky. Students and families took part in the traditional Vilsted Sø Løb, and on Sunday 130 brave students parachuted in Herning. In the middle of the week, Sisi dropped by with an inspiring lecture about life at sea. At the same time, there has been full energy on the sports field, in the hall and in the gym. Ranum is buzzing with activity - and it shows!

Happy reading!

TThank you for a fantastic day at Vilsted Søløbet!

Saturday was a day of celebration for students and families, with over 1300 runners and more than 2000 for dinner. Races ranged from 4.6 km to half marathons, and the atmosphere was great with medals, prizes, a bouncy castle and great weather. A special thanks to you parents for turning out in numbers and making the day so special - and to the kitchen for the delicious food. We're already looking forward to next year!

An adrenaline-fuelled day of skydiving!

On Sunday, 130 students took to the skies to skydive, while many family members turned up to cheer them on. Despite a few weather breaks, the weather was at its best with blue skies later in the day and everyone completed their jumps from 4500 metres. It was an unforgettable experience filled with excitement and camaraderie. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special!

Tiramisu tuesday

On Tuesday, the students were given tiramisu for dessert - a proposal from a group of students. Through the usual process of student involvement, it was approved and the result was received with great enthusiasm!

Showdance prepares for Efterskolernes Day and Halloween

Our cool girls in the showdance group are busy rehearsing for both Efterskolernes Day and Halloween! They're working hard on the choreography and can't wait to show off their great moves.

Come and experience their energy and talent - they are ready to give a great performance!

Sisi sails alone around the Nordic countries - and docked with us in Ranum

The wind has been wild this week and unfortunately put an end to the sailing on Wednesday. Instead, we were visited by Sidse - also known as Sisi, who had a short stop in Rønbjerg harbour. On a daily basis, she sails solo around the Nordic countries. With less than two hours' notice, she jumped in and gave an inspiring talk to our sailing students. She shared honestly about life at sea, solo sailing and following your dreams. A powerful and thought-provoking experience. Thank you so much to Sisi!

Sweat on your brow and a smile on your face

Ranum has been a hive of activity this week! The MMA team has been training techniques and strength, while Sport & Physiology has been playing intensive handball. On the sports ground, the football girls have been having a blast with ball and fellowship. It has truly been a week of movement!

Look forward to Efterskolernes Day!

Efterskolernes Day is just around the corner and we can't wait to open the doors and show off our amazing school! The day gives future students the opportunity to learn more about Ranum Efterskole, and we expect current students to help show around, take photos and be a part of the day. So spread the word to everyone you know - the more the merrier. Together we can create a day filled with great experiences, smiles and community.

Headmaster's column

Dear reader,
The Vilsted Lake Run was a great success with lots of happy visiting families and students who showed around and actively participated in the many Family Day activities. Parents and students also participated in a joint assembly, which included information about the choice of future cultural subjects and trips, as well as the upcoming student parties organised by the voluntary parent council.

Later that day, we established the Parents' Council, and it is now crucial for the realisation of the student parties that at least 50 parent volunteers participate each time. The registration for the student party - and to be a volunteer - is sent out on Skoleplan, and only parents can register the student.

In the assembly, I gave a brief pedagogical status of the first period and summarised that the community and the students were almost bubbling over with efterskole joy and life. Unfortunately, earlier this week, we experienced a large group of students deliberately harassing their peers to a degree that we cannot accept. They have now been sent home for personal clarification in relation to the efterskole programme - and especially how to be part of a group context.

We are now looking forward to an extended weekend where the students will be packing for their upcoming profile subject trips in week 41. The following weekend we invite you to Efterskolernes Day, and we will have an open house from 10:00 until 17:00. There are still places available for the 2026/27 school year, and we would be delighted if you could share this invitation with friends, colleagues and family. Everyone is welcome!

Have a great weekend!

Olav Storm Johannsen, Principal
