Croquis, Cambridge and twinning school ✔️

Dear reader,

A glance at the calendar tells us that there are only two school weeks left. Sad, but true. We're keeping the screw in the water for the last time here at Ranum, and there's full focus on making the most of the final weeks. The feeling that it's all coming to an end hangs in the corner, but we'll leave it there for now. We have had lots of wonderful experiences and activities together this week, which have been taking place alongside the oral exams.

The end of the last Cambridge exams marks the end of another chapter for international students. It's been a long, hard slog, but everyone has come through well.

That's a little bit of the newsletter. There are lots of activities and lots of people - at quite natural vis - read all about it here.

Overseas guests

This spring, a very excited group of students travelled to California to visit Pacific Collegiate School. On the trip, students experienced what it's like to attend an American high school, explored Californian culture and then met local families with whom they stayed. It was a great experience!
Now it's the Americans' turn to visit us. They follow life and education here in Ranum - they play softball, wake-board in Rønbjerg, ride mountain bikes and try street art with Christoffer Bukh - of course together with the Danish students.

The students have been very welcoming to their guests and have proudly shown off their school all week. It is safe to say that we have reciprocated the experience.

A slightly special activity

As we have talked about before, there have been opportunities to sign up for different activities this week. It provides a nice respite between all the exams. Today it was the turn of one of the more special ones. Or quite natural, actually. Those interested in art (and curious) had the opportunity to try croquis drawing.

Sketches were made, and the model repeatedly told us that the students were very good - both at concentrating and at drawing/sketching. It went surprisingly quickly, so you had to be vigilant with the litter on the paper.

Cambridge chapter over for now

The IGCSE and AS/A level exams have been finalised this week. It has been a long period with hundreds of individual exams across the international programmes. Knowledge, competences and skills have been tested, and the report is that it has gone very well across the board. In addition to the international exams, some pupils have also sat the school leaving exams. It is obviously a tough task to get through, so these students should be applauded for their efforts. It is not common to have 2 or 3 exams in just one day.

Although we don't know all the results yet, congratulations are in order to all students for completing the various programmes. Well done!

See you at Honnørkajen?

Earlier today a group of fresh sailors set course for Aalborg. There is Aalborg Regatta this weekend, and of course you can meet Ranum Efterskole College on the Matcheren. We tell stories from the seven seas, about afterschool life, racing and much more. Come by and visit us at the harbour! See the programme here.

Hello and welcome!

Today we have welcomed the new EVSs. They will accompany the new students and start with them after the summer holidays. Natiia is from Russia, Alberto is from Spain - Galicia to be precise and Olga from Serbia. They will live in the school and participate in activities and meetings during the year.

We look forward to getting to know them better and having the pleasure of them here at Ranum.

? Do you know someone who is going on the adventure? ?️

Then there is still the possibility to start this summer! We greatly appreciate when the word spreads and the posters are shared
- will you lend a hand in sharing the lookup?

Events next week

The penultimate week at Ranum begins on Monday. There are a few exams left to pass and otherwise we continue with lots of activities. The cable park in Rønbjerg is being fixed now, so wake boarding is back on the agenda.

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend

Greetings all of us at
