Follow us on our travels around the world

Dear reader!
It's been a hectic week with efterskolernes evening, visiting 3 boarding schools and then the travel fever ahead of the big cultural trips has created a great buzz of joy and anticipation.
Today and for the next 3 days, students and teachers will travel the world, visiting families, friendship schools, organisations and friends in 20 different countries. Small and big cultural experiences await, which will leave their mark on young people for life and help them to understand the world better.

Well attended Afterschools evening

Thank you to everyone who visited us at the afterschool evening. Despite the harsh weather, we had visitors from all over the country and many registrations for the 18-19 school year.
See photos from the evening.

Study guidance for those who want to move away from home.

At Ranum, we want to show students new paths in their further studies and therefore we have this week had a visit from Utsikten Scandinavian High School, where Scandinavian students take a baccalaureate in combination with a tourism and a nature guide education. The education is affordable and we have sent several students to Sweden from Ranum.

Oure Kostgymnasium visited Ranum for the first time and explained how they combine exciting academic lines with courses in sailing, diving and skiing, as well as up to 6 travel weeks a year.

Viborg Katedralskole and kostkollegium came again for the 2nd time and resumed the guidance with the 20 students who intend to apply for a place on the new IB course. The boarding school is very popular and a safe environment for the young people to live in while they take an internationally oriented baccalaureate.

Final study choices will be made when students return from their cultural trips.

In the next weeks..

..the Newsletter is replaced by daily updates from the many Cultural Journeys. I am in Nepal with 40 highly motivated students and colleagues. We are bringing a lot of used children's clothes and toys, as well as lego for friendship schools and orphanages, and a lot of knitted devil houses and socks for local babies, made by a bunch of knitting ladies in Løgstør. We are delighted by the generosity and support of many parents and friends of the school in supporting the many projects the students are involved in in places like Nepal, Malaysia, Namibia, Peru and South Africa.
