Wedding for fun & nice visit from sweden

Dear reader,

We have had good visitors from Sweden. Started new life-affirming outdoor project and photo&video competition is in full swing. This weekend saw the finest wedding - Well for fun, but the joy and atmosphere was unmistakable.

We have been holding rehearsals in the international classes all week and they continue both Thursday and Friday, even though it is Ascension Day in Denmark. As we had afternoon classes on Sunday, students who do not have tests on Thursday and Friday can go home today, Wednesday.

In the assemblies we have of course been following the situation in Nepal and just when it was announced that the aftershocks were subsiding and people were starting to rebuild, yesterday there was a very big earthquake again. This of course makes the situation much worse and this time the centre was only about 30 km from our twinning school in Meetche. Many houses have been destroyed and this time the school buildings were also severely damaged. There are no reports of injuries or deaths from the area. You can support those in need in Nepal through the school's collection.

Vote for your favourite: Photo & Video Competition

At the moment there is a vote for the winner of this year's P3 photo and video competition.

This is video and photos from the recently completed worldwide trips our students have been on.

See the playlist below with the 13 videos. You can choose to watch them one by one by pressing >> at the bottom or watch them all directly on youtube.

Gardens for stomachs

Gardens for stomachs" a fantastic afterschool project has started at Ranum - and what a glorious summer afternoon it was with earth under our nails...
Each contact group has been allocated a small plot of land and will spend the next few months establishing a creative kitchen garden.

Wedding for fun: Anne and Bertram get married

On May 9th we had a big wedding (just for fun) for Anne and Bertram. With our own house priest and a guest list of several hundred, we had the makings of a fantastic evening of love. There were flowers and bouquets, as well as wedding cakes and a menu worthy of a celebrity wedding. A big thank you to the teachers and students for a great effort.

Visit from Sweden: Skellefteå Youth Symphony Orchestra

Our week started with a visit from the Skellefteå Youth Symphony Orchestra, who offered students, parents and staff an unparalleled musical experience on both Sunday and Monday. The young people played both classical and interpretations of newer songs, so we were really shown around the musical universe!

Next week

In the coming week, all students will prepare papers for the oral exams. On Tuesday, the whole school will go to the AFTRYK Festival in Bælum. It's a music festival for 15 afterschools, where our music team will perform in front of 1400 other young people ! We leave early in the afternoon and will be back at midnight. The festival will end with the super hot band Odd Numbers. Thursday is the photo shoot for the commemorative photo of the year and the Blue Book.

The following weekend, a large group of students participate in Aalborg Carnival and 100% takes place outside the school.

Best regards and happy Ascension Day, and have a great weekend!
