Autumn party, TravelApe, South cleaning and Master Fatman night.

Dear reader!
The harvest party and Masterfatman evening, as well as the adventure team's clean-up of the canal to Vilsted lake made their mark on the week and in addition to the bookish hours, there was also time for a real lecture with Anders from TravelApe. Today, Friday, all contact groups gathered for a chat, in preparation for the parent-school talks on Saturday. The media team followed the printing of the new Profile newspaper and at the same time inaugurated the "new" Ranum Efterskole bus.

In the sessions we have followed up on the elections for the 2nd profile period and the excitement is now unleashed. The cultural profile subjects that will be created are: Ghana, China, USA-California, USA-Miami, Nepal Friendship School, Nepal Cultural Trek, Japan, Nicaragua, Europe Tour and the Nordics. On Parents' Day, Saturday, parents and students gather around a presentation of the profile subjects. The selection process has been more dynamic and exciting than ever and even though it seemed that for the first time, students had to be referred to a profile subject, the teachers in Nicaragua managed to accommodate the students who insisted on this choice.

Tuesday afternoon we had a visit from Anders from TravelApe, he gave a terrific talk, bursting with energy and food for thought. Anders tackles difficult issues of self-esteem and self-confidence in a way that grabs everyone in the room personally. After the lecture, Anders received a big group hug from the most enthusiastic students.

On Wednesday evening, the teachers held a teacher assembly and afterwards all students gathered in their rooms for a Master Fatman evening with a focus on cosiness and well-being, as well as good karma.

On Thursday, the Adventure team helped clean the channel to Vilsted Lake, making it easier to row kayaks and canoes.

The harvest party was a great success, and after a nice dinner composed according to the season and followed by line dancing, straw bale throwing, rodeo animal and cozy dining room. The students were well dressed and lived into the role and everyone was taken by the atmosphere, even though it took several hours to get the straw back together.

The new profile newspaper is on the streets and the Media team was at the press launch. Profilavisen is distributed by current and former students, and with Nordjyske Sunday. If you would like to help distribute the newspaper at, for example, your workplace or a school, please send us an email!

In the coming week there are Science Festival and in the Tuesday session the teachers have organised a physics event. On Tuesday we will also have a visit from Mr Reghi, the head of our friendship school in South India. It is a great honour for the school and the upcoming India team will gather for the first time on Tuesday to meet Mr. Reghi.

Saturday is Parents' Day and in addition to talks with the contact teacher, there is also a general meeting of the Friends of Ranum Efterskole, presentation of the new cultural profile courses, and a wide range of activities in the afternoon.

Sunday is the Day of the Afterschools from 13-17 and we hope for a lot of visitors. It would mean a lot to RE if you would recommend friends and colleagues to visit us on Sunday. The weekend is a staycation weekend and all students are committed to the day.

In the coming days, travel information on the first profile year's trip will be available under the Travel page and will also be sent to all parents and students. This weekend the diving team is taking their final tests in the pool and in a few weeks the trip will be to the Red Sea.

There is a lot to look forward to!

Best regards and have a great weekend!
Olav Storm
supervisor.
