Canada Culture and School Exchange<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Introduction<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A unique opportunity to be a student at a Canadian international day and boarding school for a week and learn about Canadian culture and heritage. We will visit our partner school Unisus, which is beautifully located in the valley around Summerland - surrounded by mountains, lakes and orchards. We will stay at the school, follow the daily schedule and participate with the Canadian students in various activities - both inside and outside the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We combine our exchange experience with exploring other places in Canada such as Vancouver and Vancouver Island, where there may be an opportunity to visit a high school as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So if your priority is meeting and socialising with other young people, experiencing school and educational culture in Canada, learning about Canadian history and heritage - and how it shapes modern society - then the Canada Culture & School Exchange might be for you. The fact that it all takes place in an area where unforgettable nature experiences are guaranteed is just 'icing on the cake' as they say! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lessons<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In our teaching, we will work with different knowledge areas and competence goals that can be divided into 4 main areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The concept of culture and cultural self-understanding - including intercultural competences<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Country-specific knowledge - including history, geography, politics and cultural images<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Practical and mental preparation for the trip<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Processing and evaluating the journey - includes the expectation that learners will make a documentary video about the trip and be able to reflect on their learning experiences<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, we will work together on a joint project under the general heading of 'sustainability' - focusing on the green transition using Denmark and Canada as case studies. The trip itself will include activities where the students will either work together on a joint project or where out-of-house activities will focus on this particular topic. We have decided that the UN Sustainable Development Goals number 7 Sustainable Energy and number 12 Responsible Consumption and Production will form the basis for our joint projects and the thematic framework for several of the activities we will work with - also in terms of understanding how a small community in a remote Canadian valley also has to consider and possibly make important decisions regarding their future and what could be a more sustainable path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passports only need to be valid for the duration of your stay and 6 months after your return. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
