The official language is Thai.\u00a0<\/span><span>The Thai landscape is very diverse: High, sparsely forested mountains and lush lowland plains, as well as rice paddies and sandy beaches. Thailand's location in the tropical monsoon zone has a big impact on the climate and there can be big differences in weather depending on where you are in Thailand.<\/span><span>\u00a0We will mainly stay in Bangkok and\u00a0<\/span><span>Phetchaburi<\/span><span>.<\/span><b><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>The purpose<\/h2>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span>The overall purpose of the trip is to visit<b>\u00a0Wildlife Friends Foundation\u00a0<\/b>in Phetchaburi<b>\u00a0<\/b>which is a non-profit organisation that cares for animals that have been abused and used in the tourism industry. Their aim is to rescue and rehabilitate animals in a safe environment, in surroundings as close to nature as possible.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span>We will be part of the Wildlife Friends Foundation team of volunteers and may work with e.g:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span>To look for more than 10 species of animals like gibbons, macaques, orangutans, elephants, bears, otters, reptiles, birds etc. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span>Preparation of feed and feeding of the centre's animals \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span>Cleaning and maintaining the fences\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span>Stimulation of the animals \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span>Help look after local areas and the dogs that live there.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span>Volunteering is hard physical work. But seeing the animals enjoy your hard work is worth it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>The lessons<\/h2>\n<p><span>First of all, we need to find knowledge about Thailand - here cultural knowledge as well as knowledge about the tourism industry's use of animals. In addition, we can hopefully visit Aalborg Zoo for a talk about animal ethics.\u00a0<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Requirements for students<\/h2>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span>This subject is for the students who are dedicated to working with animals and making a small difference.
